January 2022 Goals

For the past several years, I’ve been using a goal-setting tool called PowerSheets by the company Cultivate What Matters. (Fun fact: Lara Casey, the creator, attended CMU for musical theater before starting her company.)

The core monthly page of PowerSheets is called a “Tending List.” Here you write out your monthly goals, weekly goals, and daily habits, and there is space to track your progress for each.

In past years, I’ve combined business and personal with one set of PowerSheets, but this year I won a set in a giveaway and decided to split my goals into two notebooks - one for business and one for personal. I’m not sure I will always do it this way, but right now the compartmentalization is helping my brain to stay organized.

My hope is to share a sample of what I’m working on each month, as well as to note my progress from the previous month.

Yes, I realize that January is almost over (and my recent brush with COVID greatly altered my January plans,) but there is still time left in the month and my priorities are clear.

Here is what I’m working on for the remainder of January:

PERSONAL

MONTHLY:

  • get well

  • finish renovating the condo

  • wrap up the fall semester at 92Y and prepare for spring to begin

  • finish Dreamers’ Summit and begin Dream Crafting Course

WEEKLY:

  • finish at least one book

  • catch up on outstanding paperwork

  • clean my room to start the week fresh

DAILY:

  • prioritize my health

  • check-in with a friend

  • complete apartment task(s)

BUSINESS

MONTHLY:

  • plan out my yearly calendar and stay on track with January

  • complete the bulk of my Backstage Bible (This is a new system my VA is building out for me in Coda to organize all facets of my business in one central, administrative hub.)

  • outline, record, and share solo podcast episodes

  • reignite the Self-Care for Singer Facebook page

  • finish breaking down my goals

WEEKLY:

  • publish a new podcast episode (I’m going back to posting every week instead of every other week with the addition of solo episodes.)

  • post in the Self-Care for Singers Facebook page at least twice

  • complete my weekly reflection, weekly planning, and CEO date

  • check-in with my team

DAILY:

  • stay focused on the big picture

  • pray over my business

  • complete my daily top 2

  • track my time

  • follow my workflow

  • complete my communication routine
